The 12 Gates of Eden

A study on Plato's understanding on the Pillars of Hercules

This study is based on the hypothesis that Atlantis/1st Garden of Eden is located of the sunken landmass South east of the coast of Cyprus.

In this study I am assuming the Cyprus location was above water 38,000 years ago and that the Gibraltar straits was closed which the Mediterranean basin was below the sea levels of the Atlantic.  With the Gibraltar straits dammed, the Mediterranean basin covered a large area including two major seas, in the west between the the Gibraltar dam and the Sicilian land bridge and to the east of the land bridge to the eastern Mediterranean where the 1st Garden of Eden existed..

Sources used in this hypothesis are primarily The Urantia Book, the Old Testament of the Bible and other sources including the 1 & 2 books of Enoch.  Some of the books studied existed thousands of years before Plato's Timaeus and Critias was written.
 

In the following are some scriptures which in my mind speak about the Gibraltar dam and its breach.

(13 April 07, these verses could also relate to the ancient foundations in the Persian Gulf. In a addition to the breach of Gibraltar, The breach also sound like the destruction of Dilmun due to a breach of the sea walls.   Also Dalamatia was also destroyed in one day due to a tidal wave created from major land submergence.  This is clearly matched with Plato in addition to 1stEden)

Job 38:8 Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb?

Isaiah 30:13-14 Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant. 14 And he shall break it as the breaking of the potters' vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water withal out of the pit.

Micah1:4 And the mountains shall be molten under him, and the valleys shall be cleft, as wax before the fire, and as the waters that are poured down a steep place.

Ezekiel 32:17 It came to pass also in the twelfth year, in the fifteenth day of the month, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, 18 Son of man, wail for the multitude of Egypt, and cast them down, even her, and the daughters of the famous nations, unto the nether parts of the earth, with them that go down into the pit. (The consequence of the break an localised event north of Egypt.)

 

In the following are further texts of the Old Testament that seem to support the Gibraltar break and the Mediterranean deluge hypothesis. For more biblical information about the deluge event go to this link.

Also note that many references made using the Gibraltar break that can be a used a metaphor understanding that one day this information would be relied upon in proving the Cyprus/1st Eden hypothesis. (12 Aril 07 and the other places of the foundations)

Assuming that the Gibraltar region was dammed and Cyprus was the 1st garden of Eden. The Mediterranean basin at that time comprised of two or more seas, in the Book of Jubilees the two seas are called the Sea of Atil where the 1st Garden of Eden (Easterm Mediterranean) was situated and was separated by the Sicilian land bridge from the second sea called the Sea of Mauk between the Gibraltar dam and the Sicilian land bridge. Both seas and references to the garden of 1stEden are made in the Book of Jubilees 8:13. The sea of Mauk is referred to as "The one of which everything descends that is destroyed" which tells you quite plainly that a great deluge originated from the Sea of Mauk as water descends from a higher level entering into the Sea of Atil "Sea of Atlantis" again proving the Gilbraltar break where the flood waters originated from, from the west. Also note that the description in the Book of Jubilees has no bearing to the location of the second garden between the Tigris and Euphrates. Clearly the description in Jubilees is all about the 1st Garden of Eden, of Cyprus.

 

Here is some excerpts out of Jubilees about 1Eden, when reading the description of the location of 1stEden, place yourself in 1Eden in Cyprus and use the direction as mentioned in Jubilees.  I feel the description all falls into place and gives you a  description of the Mediterranean before the breach of Gilbraltar.

Book of Jubilees 8-13, 23-25

"And for Ham came out as the second portion, beyond the Gejon (Nile), toward the south, to the right of the garden, and it proceeds to all the fire mountains, and goes toward the west to the sea of Atil and goes west until it reaches the sea of Mauk  the one of which everything descends that is destroyed

If the Gibraltar straits was dammed then it stands to reason that the pillars of Hercules never existed in the Gibraltar area because it was closed, it was only in recent times that scholars including Plato assumed that the pillars of Hercules was Gilbraltar not knowing that it was once dammed in relative recent history and assumed Gibraltar was always opened.  But as seen through scripture this is not the case.  In the unifying revelation study you can actually find references to the deluge and 1st Eden.

So with the Gibraltar dammed up where did the idea of the Pillars of Hercules come from? and what are its true origins?

If we consider the Urantia information we can be find clues of the pillars in the following links and extracts that provides us leads to understand the origins of the pillars of Hercules and the many cultures that adopted the use of pillars as territory boundaries.

In the following are biblical references to the 12 gates that are associated with Eden the second temple which is a reflection of the past, God knowing that this information would one day in the future be relied upon to prove the Cyprus and other cases of study. Note in the following descriptions are mentioned gates, walls and a city similar to what has been discovered of Cyprus.

Further in the same chapter we find again references to the 12 gates as mentioned in the above and the Urantia Book also note the description of first foundations of the wall describing them as built by precious stones and similar descriptions can be found in the book of Enoch and Ezekiel.

Revelation 21:18  And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. 19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; 20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. 21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

Are these references in Revelations, reflections of the original gates of Eden that crossed the peninsula when Atlantis/Eden was above water? Are these 12 gates used as an insight to the future but are also a reflection of the past? And did the legend of the pillars continue for thousands of years and the mention and use of pillars such like the "Pillars of Hercules" or " Pillars of Shu in Egyptian writings"  Are these references just another reflection of the 12 gates of Eden from the ancient past that perpetuated overtime in many landmarks of later civilisations?

In the following are more extracts out of the Old Testament that speak about the 12 stones or pillars used in ceremony by the early Hebrews.  Are these again reflections of the 12 gates of Eden handed down through culture as a memory of the distant past.

MOUNT SINAI AND THE LUNAR GOD SIN

New archaeological finds add to the debate on the hypothesis that

the Mountain Har Karkom, in the north of the Sinai Peninsula, can be identified with the biblical Mount Sinai.

 

And again you have the Urantia 12 gates of Eden where no one gets to the city unless they pass through the 12 gates or pillars.

PAPER 73 - THE GARDEN OF EDEN, Oct 19 2000, The Urantia Book

Paper 73 line 74: A zoological garden was created by building a smaller wall just outside the main wall; the intervening space, occupied by all manner of wild beasts, served as an additional defense against hostile attacks. This menagerie was organized in twelve grand divisions, and walled paths led between these groups to the twelve gates of the Garden, the river and its adjacent pastures occupying the central area.

In the following Book of the Dead extracts are again descriptions of 1st Eden as seen through Egyptian eyes who was only a short distance south of 1stEden.  Note the pillars and gates are described which  protected the land of the Gods.  The pillars of Shu where gates where the Gods passed through to the east, sounds very similar to The Urantia Book account. It also makes mention of gates protecting the island of Maati which you can deduce is to the west of the Pillars of Shu. In this description we again see that a home of the Gods was to the west of the Pillars of Shu or the 12 gates of Eden.  Shu is God or "The Father"

What is the "great double nest"?

"The name of one nest is 'Millions of years,' and 'Great Green [Sea]' is the name of the other, that is to say 'Lake of Natron' and 'Lake of Salt.' "Others, however, say the name of the one is 'Guide of Millions of Years,' and that 'Great Green Lake' is name of the other. Yet others say that 'Begetter of Millions of Years' is the name of one, and 'Great Green Lake' is the name of the other. Now, as concerning the Great God who dwelleth therein, it is Ra himself. "I pass over the way, I know the head of the Island of Maati."  (here we find different descriptions of the Green sea to the north of Egypt.  We find that the island of Maati looks like a head.  This infers that the head looking island must be connected to the mainland by a peninsula, looking like a head island that juts towards the west into the sea. We know this because the Northern gate faces east where the Gods leave out of the garden east towards the east .


The head looking island, and the peninsula where the gate of the east existed.  The island of the shrines of the Gods, the isle of Maati. Could this be the origin of the "Eye of Horus"  Certainly looks like head with an eye looking south. with Pillars of Hercules or the 12 gates of Eden. to the North east.

What is this?

"It is Ra-stau, that is to say, it is the gate to the South of Nerutef, and it is the Northern Gate of the Domain (The gate of North protecting the the garden island at the peninsula Tomb of the god). "Now, as concerning the Island of Maati, (Island of Eden to the North of Egypt)  it is Abtu. "Others, however, say that it is the way by which Father Tem (Habakkuk 3) travelleth when he goeth forth to Sekhet-Aaru, [the place] which produceth the food and sustenance of the gods who are [in] their shrines. (Sounds like the tree of life in the temple, sustenance of the Gods another memory of 1stEden.)  "Now the Gate Tchesert is the Gate of the Pillars of Shu, that is to say, the Northern Gate of the Tuat. (The Northern gate actually has a name.) "Others, however, say that the Gate of Tchesert is the two leaves of the door through which the god Tem passeth when he goeth forth to the eastern horizon of the sky. (The Gods leave towards the east through the northern gate) (Another description of the gate to the North of Eden again looking to the east, the head looking island must of been to the west of the gate) "O ye gods who are in the presence [of Osiris], grant to me your arms, for I am the god who shall come into being among you." (Sounds like a prophecy of Jesus spending time in Egypt.)


Doesn't the head looking island have an eye, Could this be the origin of the "Eye of Horus" in physical metaphor perpetuated in the Egyptian Culture??

Who are these gods?

"They are the drops of blood (conflict) which came forth from the phallus of Ra when he went forth to perform his own mutilitation. These drops of blood sprang into being under the forms of the gods Hu and Sa, who are in the bodyguard of Ra, and who accompany the god Tem daily and every day. "I, Osiris the scribe Ani, whose word is truth, have filled for thee the utchat (the Eye of Ra, or of Horus), when it had suffered extinction on the day of the combat of the Two Fighters (Horus and Set)." (lost his immortality, sounds like the Adam and Eve downfall.)

The Garden of the Hesperides

Greek myths legends also speak of the Garden of Hesperdes which in my mind is purely a reflection of 1st Eden. Scholars tend to think that the Garden of Hesperdes is located to the west, in the Atlantic ocean which most people seem to assume that's where the garden lays, to the west beyond Gibraltar, in and around the Canary islands or the Fortunate islands. However, if we see in prospective to the Cyprus case it could very match where the Garden of 1st Eden which was situated to the west of the 12 gates of Eden that crossed the peninsula of the Garden land in the sea of Atil (Jubilees).

Note as you read the following extract how in the Garden It contains the apples of immortality which was produced by a "tree of life".  Its one of Hercules labours to steal the fruit from the Garden where an dragon lived whose job it was to protect the golden apples.  Almost a replication of the Genesis account regarding the angel protecting the eastern gate and similarities of this story can be found in the book of Adam and Eve and in the Book of Enoch.

The Garden of the Hesperides is Hera's orchard in the west, (west of the 12 gates of Eden) where either a single tree or a grove of immortality-giving golden apples grew. The apples were planted from the fruited branches that Gaia gave to her as a wedding gift when Hera accepted Zeus. The Hesperides were given the task of tending to the grove, but occasionally plucked from it themselves. Not trusting them, Hera also placed in the garden a never-sleeping, hundred-headed, dragon, named Ladon, as an additional safeguard.

Although Herakles was supposed to perform only ten labours, Eurystheus discounted those where he was aided or paid, and so two additional labours were given. The first of these (the eleventh overall) was to steal the apples from the garden. Heracles first caught Nereus, the shape-shifting sea god, to learn where the Garden of the Hesperides was located.

In some versions of the tale, Herakles did not know where to travel, and so sought help, being directed to Prometheus to ask, and when reaching Prometheus freed him from his torture as payment. This tale is more usually found in the position of the Erymanthian Boar, since it is associated with Chiron choosing to forgoe immortality and to take Prometheus' place.

In some variations, Herakles, either at the start or at the end of his task, meets Antaeus, who was invincible as long as he touched his mother, Gaia, the earth. Antaeus was killed by placing him above the earth, suspended in a tree.

Occasionally, versions tell that Herakles stopped in Egypt, where King Busiris decided to make him the yearly sacrifice, but Herakles burst out of his chains.

Finally making his way to the Garden of the Hesperides, Herakles tricked Atlas into retrieving some of the golden apples for him, by offering to hold the heavens for a little while (Atlas was able to take them as in this version, Atlas was the father of the Hesperides). Upon his return with the apples, Atlas decided not to take the heavens back from Heracles, but Heracles tricked him again by agreeing to take his place on condition that Atlas relieved him temporarily so that Herakles could make his cloak more comfortable. Atlas agreed, Heracles walked away. According to an alternate version, Herakles slew Ladon instead.

Herakles was the only person to successfully steal the apples, although Athena later returned the apples to their rightful place, in the garden.

The size of the Ezekiel's Temple.

Another interesting piece of research is the dimensions of the manmade structures of Cyprus and how it relates to Ezekiel's visionary temple found in the Old testament.   This vision of Ezekiel's temple has remarkable connections and parallels with the new temple described in the book of revelations as in the above.

In the following link is a study made by a Christian researcher who has calculated the dimensions of Ezekiel's temple from the book of Ezekiel. The most curious thing is the dimensions of the middle and inner sanctuary seem to fit the Cyprus location perfectly. Note that Ezekiel's temple is a vision of the new temple mentioned in the book of revelations. One in the same, a vision of the future reflecting upon the past, with accuracy. Is this another confirmation that we are on the right track?

We can use the same ratios to calculate the size of the Holy Place and Most Holy Place. Ezekiel's Holy Place was 20 by 40 cubits, and his Most Holy Place was 20 by 20 cubits (Ezek. 41:2, 4). Since exact precision isn't all that important, we'll just use the furlong of 606.5 ft. We must make two calculations, one for 20 cubits and the other for 40 cubits:

20 / 4,500 * 344.6 mi. = 1.53 mi.

40 / 4,500 * 344.6 mi. = 3.06 mi.

It is quite possible, therefore, that the heavenly temple which will be outside the New Jerusalem will have a Holy Place about 3 by 1.5 miles, and a Most Holy Place about 1.5 miles square. No wonder the structure can accommodate millions of worshippers.

 

Note that according to Bobs calculations, the outer perimeter/boundary of the Ezekiel's new temple is 1500 miles. The present coastline mileage of Cyprus is 750 miles however, if you combine the distance of Cyprus with the sunken landmass coastline, it could very well equal or be close to 1500 miles however further studies has to made on this point.

Quite astonishing......


The coastline distance of present Cyprus is 750 miles combine that with the sunken peninsula that was above water may equal 1500 miles.

Is Ezekiel, whilst seeing the future vision of the temple is at the same time describing the actual coastline distance of the sunken garden land, a reflection of the 1st Garden of Eden?? A unification?

Now consider the dimensions of the manmade structures of Cyprus below and compare them to Bobs calculations of the holy and most holy place.

40 / 4,500 * 344.6 mi. = 3.06 mi. (holy place)

Is there something happening as all this truth seem to be creating its own conjunction and unifying effect??

As I rummage through the scriptures, the Urantia Book, the book of the dead and other other ancient texts.  I can see clear consistency with the 12 gates of Eden, the 12 stones, the 12 pillars that were used at various times for specific proposes with reflections of past present and future. 

Now for one moment look at all this from this prospective.  You have 1st Eden the abode of Adam and Eve, the physical Gods of Urantia attended the Holy mountain (the stone temple) that was surrounded by a city that had a great wall, discovered of Cyprus.  No person could get to the the city of the Gods without going through the 12 Gates of Eden which was situated across the peninsula 28 miles wide at the neck of the garden land as mentioned in the Urantia Book extract above.  Suddenly after 4000 years since construction a flood came upon this location and flooded the whole garden land, gates and all. 

Because this place had originally great significance as the land of the Gods (Adam and Eve) this place was to be remembered and be used for the future as indicated in the following biblical texts.

Book of Jubilees:  brought the waters of the flood upon all the land of Eden; for there he was set as a sign

Job:12 Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place; (Commanding angels to know this place for a future event.) 13 That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it? (used for judgement)

Job:38  It is turned as clay to the seal;

Job:38-30 The waters are hid as with a stone, (the holy mountain of 1st Eden, the stone temple)

Isaiah:30-8 Now go, write it before them in a table,  and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:  

Song of Solomon 4:12  A garden inclosed is my sister, my spouse; a spring shut up, a fountain sealed.

This garden land was to be remembered as a seal or by a seal that was perpetuated in all the books through the ages by the collaboration of angels and man.  This perpetuation is evident throughout the Old and New testament through the symbolic use of 12 pillars, 12 tribes, 12 gates, 12 foundations, 12 disciples, 12 apostles and 12 stones.  Knowing that no one could get into the city or partake of the knowledge of the Gods (physically and spiritually) except through the 12 gates of Eden. The 12 gates representing the gateway of truth. 

The number twelve appears to be a very significant number and in my mind is a perpetuation of the 12  gates of  Eden used in a metaphoric way.  Think about it on a spiritual level.  God raised a people called Israel who had 12 tribes whose original purpose was to bring forth the truth about the father to the planet.  The prophets of Israel like Elijah and others used the 12 pillars or stones in ceremony near a holy mountain surrounding an altar to reconfirm this promise, similar to the purpose of the 12 gates of Eden that protected the city of God where Adam and Eve lived.  Looking in the future temple is the place where the bride will live with the lamb, the king and the priest working together.   Jesus perpetuated this idea by selecting the 12 disciples who then became the 12 apostles to spread the word about the kingdom throughout the world which has happened and has come into full fruition.  The remarkable description of Ezekiel's temple and the temple, described in Revelations is very much a similar to and in description of  the stone temple and walls found of the coast of Cyprus.

I feel the the use of 12 is a distant reflection of the 12 gates of Eden, the gates leading to truth.  No one gets to truth unless they pass through the 12 gates.  A distant reflection of the truth of the 12 gates.

We can clearly see this description in the following extract found in Revelations 21.

Also sounds similar to the angel protecting the gates of Eden in the Adam and Eve account.)

13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.  (a perpetuation of the 12 gates of Eden)

 14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. (No one comes to the city of God except through the 12 gates. its sounds like Jesus saying that no one comes to the Father except through me similar to, no one gets into the city of God except through the 12 gates or no one understand the truth of the father except through the message of my 12 apostles which are the 12 gates)

15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. (Here we speak of Gates, walls and the city. Also here is a direct reference to what we are discovering in 1stEden of Cyprus. 

We have all the components here.

Speaking with God, researching and studying the case through the books of all religions, following the bidding of the Father which is leading us to the ancient locations.  He have discovered and partially measured the city, we know about the gates and there purpose through side scan data and images which links with the Urantia Book and we have discovered the wall in the 2nd Expedition as mentioned in the Urantia book.

After analyzing Revelations 21 there is no doubt we are speaking of the discovery of 1stEden and all the associated components as discovered and as mentioned in the above and also speaking about a future temple and purpose of these major discoveries in the physical which are parallel in the books

In the following is another very curious scripture found in the 1Book of Adam of Eve where God promises to Adam that God will take Adam and his descendants back to the Garden of Eden. 

Isn't that what's happening right now as this discovery of Eden reveals itself??. 

A virtual real time prophecy fulfilling itself right now.

The prophecy of the coming of Jesus earthly life and the return of Adams righteous descendants back to the 1st Garden of Eden.

The prophet who said, "He will be kept in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on God," was not a mere intellectual believer in authoritative theology. This truth-knowing human had discovered God; he was not merely talking about God.
